MASON COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman’s alleged infidelity leads to one man arrested after he assaulted her, put her clothes in the woods, and took her phone.
On Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at approximately 8:48 PM, a call was dispatched for an active domestic incident in Glenwood, Mason County, West Virginia.
Upon arrival, Corporal Ferrell of the Mason County Sheriff’s Office was already on the scene and had separated the parties, with the offender, Danny L. Long, detained in the back of his cruiser.
The victim was in the camper and reported that she and Mr. Long had been arguing about her alleged infidelity. The victim had visible injuries, including bruises on both forearms, a scratch on her neck, and a busted lower lip. She stated that the injuries occurred during the current incident. Mr. Long had also taken her phone to prevent her from making calls.
The victim provided a written statement. When questioned, Mr. Long denied being violent but admitted to trying to take the victim’s phone to have her full attention during their argument about her cheating.
Mr. Long was placed under arrest, and while being transferred to the officer’s cruiser, he revealed that he had placed her clothes in the woods. Corporal Ferrell located the five bags of her belongings and returned them to her.
The victim was advised on how to obtain a domestic violence protective order through the Mason County Magistrate Court and left the scene with her parents, who had arrived. Her parents requested that Mr. Long be trespassed from their property in Mason County.
After processing at the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, Mr. Long was transported to the Western Regional Jail to await arraignment.
