MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia University is making changes to its administrative structure in response to West Virginia Gov. Patrick Morrisey’s Executive Order No. 3-25.
In an email sent to employees of WVU, the university has been reviewing the order while engaging with campus community members and stakeholders to address concerns.
As part of its compliance efforts, WVU is closing its Division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
In its place, the university has established the Division of Campus Engagement and Compliance, which will focus on adhering to federal and state regulations.
The new unit will prioritize compliance with Title IX and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
University officials emphasized that this is not a simple rebranding but a shift in focus to align with the governor’s directive.
The administration is still assessing the full impact of the executive order, as well as a subsequent federal order issued by President Donald Trump.
WVU assured faculty and staff that it will continue to provide updates and guidance as the review process continues.
