MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia University freshman guard Jonathan Powell plans to enter the transfer portal, according to On3 Sports.
Powell had a strong first season with the Mountaineers, averaging 8.3 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.

He started in 23 of 32 appearances and also recorded 22 assists and 22 steals.
His decision comes less than a day after WVU was left out of the 2025 NCAA Tournament field.
The announcement also comes as the future of WVU Head Coach Darian DeVries remains uncertain.
