OCEANA, WV (LOOTPRESS)—Berlin McKinney Elementary School received a check to replace broken bleachers in its gymnasium. At a Board of Education Meeting, Delegate Christopher Toney presented the check to Principal Tina Adams-Wallen and awarded the school $6,000 to make the replacements.
After presenting the check and speaking with staff members, Delegate Toney had several positive comments about the event after partnering with Wyoming County Schools to provide for the school.
“It was a pleasure to work with Berlin McKinney and Wyoming County Schools to ensure they are getting the support they need.” He followed up by saying, “Sports and extracurricular activities are critical in the communities throughout southern West Virginia. In order for us to support our communities and promote family engagement, our schools and staff deserve safe and updated facilities to host these functions. I’d like to thank the central office, board of education, and the staff of Berlin McKinney for their work. I hope to support more schools and organizations with any resources I can find in the future.”
