WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A shots-fired call lands one man in jail.
According to West Virginia State Police, troopers were called to a shots fired call in the Kopperston area of Wyoming County. Once they arrived, they made contact with the suspect, Jacob Grant Sams of Oceana. Sams admitted to troopers that he drinks alcohol daily and smokes marijuana occasionally.
The victim told troopers that Sams shot a gun toward his home. Troopers found one 10MM spent shell casing, which matched the suspect’s gun.
Sams was charged with wanton endangerment, a person prohibited from possessing a firearm, shooting within 500 feet of a building, and public intoxication. He is currently out on bond.
