OCEANA, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wyoming County man is behind bars after a violent domestic assault and drug-related arrest on April 21, 2025, along Kopperston Road in Oceana.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., Trooper N.T. Warden responded to a 911 call reporting an active domestic disturbance involving possible weapons. Upon arrival, Trooper Warden found the victim covered in blood with visible swelling to her face and neck. The victim reported that the accused, Rambo Johnson, had fled the scene on foot.
After a search of the area and a tip from a passerby, Trooper Warden located Johnson hiding inside a nearby trailer. With the homeowner’s permission, the trooper entered and found Johnson concealed in a back bedroom. Johnson resisted arrest but was ultimately subdued and handcuffed.
During the arrest, Johnson was found with $88 in cash, a clear bag containing a white powder suspected to be fentanyl, a piece of foil with burnt crystal residue believed to be methamphetamine, and a pocketknife.
According to the victim’s statement, Johnson assaulted her while she was sleeping, beating and choking her to the point of near unconsciousness. She further reported that Johnson brandished a knife and threatened her life, stating, “Tonight is the night you die, bitch.” Johnson also allegedly dumped out her purse and stole approximately $100, which was later recovered and returned by law enforcement.
Trooper Warden filed for warrants against Johnson on multiple charges, including strangulation, robbery, brandishing a deadly weapon, domestic battery, possession of methamphetamine, possession of fentanyl, and obstructing law enforcement.
All charges stem from criminal acts committed in Wyoming County, West Virginia.
