WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wyoming County man was arrested Friday evening following a domestic disturbance that led to law enforcement intervention.
At approximately 6:40 PM on February 7, 2025, Corporal J. Grimmelle of the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department (WCSD) was dispatched to a residence in Kopperston for a reported verbal domestic dispute.
Upon arrival, Andy Hayes was found sitting on the porch. According to Cpl. Grimmelle, Hayes immediately placed his hands behind his back, stating that he was “ready to go to jail.” The officer noted a strong odor of alcohol on Hayes, who admitted to consuming alcohol earlier in the evening. Hayes was then detained and placed in the patrol vehicle.
The victim reported that an argument had occurred between her and Hayes after she returned home from work around 6:00 PM. She stated that Hayes had followed her home and warned her to call the police because he had “busted up the inside of the house.” Upon entering, she discovered that items had been broken and overturned. She further reported that Hayes told her he needed to go to jail and, after being released, “her ass was his.” She stated that Hayes’ fists were clenched, making her fear for her safety, prompting her to seek help from a neighbor to call 911.
Hayes was subsequently arrested for Domestic Assault and transported to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department for processing.
