WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Wyoming County school bus was involved in an accident Friday afternoon in the Huff Consolidated School area, according to the Wyoming County Board of Education.
School officials said Bus 252 was involved in the accident, prompting a response from school personnel and emergency services.
“Mr. Endicott and school personnel are on the scene as well as emergency services,” the school system initially reported. “Once students are safe and checked out they will be transported home by other buses and drivers there on standby.”
In an update at 4:58 p.m., the school system said students had been evaluated by emergency services.
Students whose parents were at the scene were released to them, while other students were transported home on another bus.
“Thank you for a quick response from Mr. Endicott and his team as well as Wyoming County Emergency Services,” the school system said.
By 5:35 p.m., emergency services had cleared the scene.
“The scene has been cleared by Emergency Services in the Huff Consolidated area involving Bus 252,” the school system said. “We are grateful for the leadership of Mr Endicott and his team as well as Emergency Services.”
The Wyoming County Board of Education did not immediately provide additional details regarding the circumstances of the accident or report any injuries.
