WYOMING COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Wyoming County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney secured eleven felony convictions in January, setting a determined tone for the new year.
“We really wanted to hit the ground running in 2025,” said Wyoming County Prosecuting Attorney Gregory Bishop. “With newly elected Judge Josh Miller, our first permanent judge in over a year, I am confident we can thoroughly prosecute our felony cases without delay.”
Bishop emphasized a renewed focus on repeat offenders moving forward.
“I have been involved in law enforcement for over thirty years and know criminal conduct is committed by a relatively small number of individuals who chronically offend,” he said.
“Of course, crimes of violence and serious drug offenses will continue to be vigorously prosecuted, as more often than not, they are committed by a small number of persistent offenders.”
The following individuals were convicted of felony offenses in January:
- Justine Lee Tolliver – Sexual assault
- Billy Joe Lester – Fleeing in a vehicle with reckless indifference
- Lashawna Beth Huff – Attempting to commit a felony
- Sidney Paul Allen – Failure to register as a sex offender
- Randy Lee Hurley – Burglary
- Judd Stephen Reed – Attempting to commit a felony
- Robert Hilling, Jr. – Burglary
- Paul David Hill – Being a felon in possession of a firearm
- Carlton Musick, Jr. – Grand larceny and conspiracy to commit a felony
- Angel Hunt – Attempting to commit a felony
Bishop reassured the community of the ongoing commitment to public safety.
“I want the public to know that we are working every day, in conjunction with our partners in the criminal justice system, to keep Wyoming County safe and secure,” he said.
“And I want would-be repeat offenders to know we will not falter in our relentless effort to target career criminals in Wyoming County.”
