BERKELEY COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 12-year-old juvenile has died following a collision involving a motorcycle Thursday evening in Berkeley County.
According to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched around 7:15 p.m. on April 16, 2026, to the intersection of Arden Nollville Road and Cambrian Court in reference to a traffic crash involving injuries.
Initial reports indicated a juvenile had been struck and was lying in the roadway.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and rendered aid; however, the juvenile was pronounced deceased.
Authorities said the operator of the motorcycle remained on scene and sustained injuries in the crash.
Preliminary investigation indicates the deceased juvenile, along with a second juvenile, age 13, had been operating small electric scooters along Arden Nollville Road.
Based on witness statements and evidence collected at the scene, the juvenile entered the roadway into the path of the motorcycle and was subsequently struck.
The juvenile’s parents have been notified.
Officials are continuing to investigate the incident.
