LEWISBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A multi-agency drug operation in Greenbrier County led to the arrest of 18 individuals on Tuesday evening, following a special grand jury convened earlier that day by the Greenbrier County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
The arrests stem from multiple drug investigations conducted by the Greenbrier Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force. Law enforcement officers from several agencies, including the Greenbrier County Sheriff’s Office, West Virginia State Police, Lewisburg and White Sulphur Springs Police Departments, the U.S. Marshals CUFFED Task Force, Greenbrier County Emergency Management and Homeland Security, and the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, took part in the coordinated operation.
During the roundup, officers also executed four search warrants at residences connected to the suspects. The searches yielded significant evidence, including several thousand dollars in cash, two firearms, approximately one ounce each of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and crack cocaine, two vehicles, and various drug packaging materials.
The following individuals were arrested and face a range of charges:
- Todd Anthony Brown – Delivery of Schedule II (Fentanyl, Methamphetamine), Conspiracy to Deliver Schedule II
- Cynthia Lynn Smith – Possession with Intent to Deliver Schedule II (Methamphetamine)
- Lyndsay Renee Wood – Delivery of Schedule II (Fentanyl)
- Shirley Mary Czaplinski – Three counts of Delivery of Schedule II (Methamphetamine), Delivery of Schedule III
- Christopher Keith Norris – Delivery of Controlled Substance
- Joshua L. Moody – Eight counts of Delivery of Controlled Substance
- Larry R. Jennings – Two counts of Delivery of Controlled Substance, Two counts of Conspiracy to Deliver
- Wanda F. Jennings – Three counts of Delivery of Controlled Substance, Two counts of Conspiracy to Deliver
- Justin T. Ferdinand – Three counts of Delivery of Controlled Substance
- Kacey A. Withrow – Delivery of Controlled Substance
- Natasha L. Walker – Delivery of Controlled Substance
- Jason A. Huffman – Delivery of Controlled Substance, Conspiracy to Deliver
- Donna J. Davis – Providing False Information, Aiding a Fugitive
- Charlie R. Baldwin – Three counts of Delivery of Controlled Substance
- Derrick S. Adkins – Delivery of Controlled Substance
- Zachary L. Smith – Delivery of Controlled Substance
- Patrick B. Warren – Obstructing an Officer
- Gary Delano Wilson – Three counts of Delivery of Controlled Substance
In a joint statement, Greenbrier County Prosecuting Attorney Nicole Campbell and Sheriff Bart Baker emphasized the seriousness of the drug epidemic in the region.
“Our county is facing a drug epidemic that is dangerous and destructive,” they said. “Fentanyl, methamphetamine, and other illicit substances are claiming lives, tearing apart families, and fueling crime throughout our communities. As law enforcement leaders, we are united in our commitment to confront this crisis head-on. That includes aggressively prosecuting traffickers, increasing drug interdiction efforts, and working with our federal and state partners to target the criminal networks behind this devastation.”
The investigation remains ongoing.
