OAK HILL, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A domestic dispute lands a man in jail after throwing a phone, hitting a car with his own, stealing from Glen Jean, and telling deputies he drove his vehicle through the showroom glass at Crossroads Chevrolet.
On September 1, 2024, Deputy J. Warshaw responded to a domestic incident in Oak Hill. Upon arrival, he spoke with the complainant. She stated that she had verbally argued with her husband, the defendant Michael Taylor.
During the argument, the victim began recording the defendant on her cell phone for her safety and told him to leave. The defendant then snatched the phone from her hand and threw it, causing it to strike the wall and break.
After leaving the residence, the defendant got into his vehicle, accelerated in the driveway, and struck her vehicle, causing damage to both cars. The defendant then fled the scene before Deputy Warshaw’s arrival.
Deputy Warshaw later contacted the defendant by phone, and the defendant confirmed the incident. The defendant also admitted to shoplifting from the Glen Jean Exxon at 4704 Legends Highway, Glen Jean, taking a tobacco vape pen and a bottle of Dr. Pepper valued at $22.13.
The defendant expressed a desire to turn himself in and said he had driven his vehicle through the showroom glass of Crossroads Chevrolet in Raleigh County.
Deputy Warshaw contacted Raleigh County, and a Trooper was on the scene of that incident. Shortly after, the defendant arrived at Deputy Warshaw’s office, where he was taken into custody for Domestic Assault and Shoplifting.
The stolen property was recovered and placed into evidence, and the defendant was transported to PMC for medical clearance before being taken to SRJ pending arraignment.
