NORTH WHEELING, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An Ohio County man was arrested on Friday following a domestic incident in the North Wheeling area.
According to the Wheeling Police Department, law enforcement was dispatched to Wheeling Fire Station 2 at around 8:30pm for reports of an injured woman seeking medical attention.
The victim was transported to WVU Medicine Wheeling Hospital and received treatment for a hand injury sustained during the incident in question.
Police report that a verbal argument had taken place at a residence in the 800 block of Main Street and eventually escalated into a fight, leading to the stabbing of the victim.
Gavin Sebastian Thompson – 19 years old of Wheeling, WV – was arrested in connection to the incident and has been charged with malicious assault.
Thompson was transported to Northern Regional Jail following the arrest.
