CHAPMANVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A tragic accidental shooting claimed the life of a 2-year-old boy in Chapmanville on Saturday, December 14.
According to the West Virginia State Police, Sergeant T.D. Boggs responded to a report of the incident on Madison Street.
The child was transported by the Logan Emergency Ambulance Service Authority to Logan Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Christina Bryant, Medical Examiner, confirmed that the child’s body would be sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.
The West Virginia State Police Crime Scene Response Team conducted an investigation at the scene.
Authorities stated that the investigation remains ongoing.
