ANSTED, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fayette County residence has been deemed a total loss following a Wednesday morning fire.
According to the Ansted Fire Department (AFD), on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at approximately 11:30 AM, the AFD was dispatched to Wilson Road in Victor for a fully engulfed structure fire.
Automatic Aid was received from Nuttall and Fayetteville FDs. On arrival Chief 1101 gave the size-up of a fully involved, partially collapsed, 2-story structure, according to the AFD.
It took 20 firefighters, 5 engines, and 2 squads, operating for three hours, to extinguish the blaze.
This fire was toward the end of Wilson Rd. and had a sizable head-start on the first arriving units.
The AFD says the home was a total loss. Units on scene were assisted by Jan Care and General EMS.
The Red Cross was contacted to assist the family with recovery, and no injuries were reported.
