WATERTOWN TOWNSHIP, OH (LOOTPRESS) – A 21-year-old Parkersburg man was killed early Wednesday morning in a single-vehicle crash just west of the West Virginia state line, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Marietta Post.
Troopers said the crash occurred around 4:59 a.m. on State Route 339 near Milepost 12 in Watertown Township.
The victim, identified as Colt Porter, was driving a 2008 Ford F-150 northbound when the truck went off the right side of the roadway, traveled down a small embankment, and struck a grove of trees before coming to a stop.
Authorities said Porter was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Watertown Volunteer Fire Department, Barlow Volunteer Fire Department and Squad, Washington County Coroner’s Office, and Shea’s Towing.
