CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Kanawha County man was convicted on Monday in relation to an incident earlier this year involving multiple gunshots. The Kanawha County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office indicates that 33-year-old Elkview man, Aaron Alan Grindstaff, will face charges in relation to the incident.
According to the Kanawha County court documentation, on February 13, 2024, Deputies with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Willis Creek Road area of Clendenin with regard to shots having been fired.
Upon their arrival at the scene of the reported incident, Kanawha County Deputies discovered that multiple shots had been fired off by Grindstaff in the direction of half a dozen individuals conducting work in the area.
The 33-year-old Elkview man was convicted of Wanton Endangerment on Monday by virtue of a guilty plea. He is scheduled for sentencing on January 30, 2025, and will face a maximum penalty for the crimes in question of imprisonment at a West Virginia correctional facility for a no less than one and no more than five years.
The case was prosecuted before Kanawha County Circuit Judge David Hardy by Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Kanawha County, Ryanne Ball. The Kanawha County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office extended its praise to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office for the department’s professionalism and investigative efforts over the course of the case.
