RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On April 12, at approximately 1:45 PM, Deputies with the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a report that a toddler-aged child had accidentally overdosed on Heroin at a residence in Daniels. Thankfully, there were three Deputy Sheriffs in Daniels when the call was dispatched. They all arrived within approximately two minutes. Deputies immediately administered Naloxone (Narcan) to the child.
They then transported the child to BARH as the closest EMS unit responded from the Coal City area. The child appeared to be recovering well when turned over to medical staff.
Deputies and Detectives with the Raleigh County Sheriff’s arrested James L. Minton, age 41 of Daniels, and Amanda G. Richmond, 34 of Daniels, due to their investigation into the above incident. Both Minton and Richmond have been charged with child neglect resulting in serious bodily injury.
