NITRO, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The bridge at 40th Street and 2nd Avenue in Nitro will be completely closed to traffic on Monday, July 8, 2024, for construction, according to the City of Nitro.
During the construction, emergency access will be redirected to 3rd Avenue and 31st Street.
Both Metro 911 and Putnam 911 have been informed of the changes.
The construction is expected to be completed by August 19, in time for the start of the school year.
For any inquiries, individuals are asked to please contact the West Virginia Department of Highways (WVDOH), as this is a state road project and not managed by the city of Nitro.
Residents are advised to plan ahead during the construction period.
