KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that left an 8-year-old child dead Tuesday afternoon.
Deputies say the collision occurred around 4:53 p.m. in the 2000 block of Lens Creek Road when a utility truck and an SUV collided head-on.
The impact caused the utility truck to overturn onto its side, while the SUV came to rest in a ditch.
The SUV was driven by a mother with her 8-year-old child inside.
According to investigators, the child was ejected during the crash. A passerby immediately stopped and performed CPR until medics arrived.

The driver of the utility truck was transported for evaluation and treatment.
