Cast your Vote for the Week 4 Softball Player of the Week!

The Lootpress Player of the Week Award sponsored by Mid-State Ford, Little General, and The Law Offices of Brandon Steele, has returned for the second year.

Below are the candidates for the fourth week of the prep softball season. Voting will close Wednesday, April 17 at 11:59 P.M. The fan vote will be used in the event of a tie. VOTES ALONE DO NOT DETERMINE THE WINNER. There are also changes to the Player of the Week voting pertaining to the top overall vote getter that you can read about here.

If the top vote getter has already won a community choice poll, the next leading vote getter who has not won will be named that week’s community choice winner.

Moving forward, votes found to be obtained using an extension, bot or any other automated service will be subtracted from the final tally.

• Izzy Smith, Bluefield – Struck out 27 batters in 12 innings as the Beavers went 2-0.
• Lily Carola, Greenbrier East – Carola had a .786 OBP with a home run, six hits and five walks. As a pitcher she struck out 15 batters in nine innings.
• Abigail Jenkins, Princeton – Jenkins batted .375 with six RBIs and a home run in a 2-1 week.
• Maddie Cox, Liberty – Cox batted .667 with three RBIs.
• Jaci Stonestreet, Midland Trail – Stonestreet batted .800 with six RBIs in five plate appearances last week.
• Amy Hollandsworth, Oak Hill – Hollandsworth batted .625 with seven RBIs and a home run last week.
• Jenna Joyce, Shady Spring – Joyce batted .636 with eight RBIs. As a pitcher she went 1-0 with 14 strikeouts.
• Aubrey Smallwood, Beckley – Smallwood batted .500 with a home run and three RBIs. As a pitcher she went 2-1 with 42 strikeouts in 21 innings.
