Born September 21st, 1934, he was the son of the late Albert Wolfe, and Maurine Payne Wolfe.
Mr. Wolfe spent his days working hard and providing for his family. As an equipment operator in the Coal Mines, he tirelessly gave of himself faithfully to take care of those he cherished.
Affectionately known as the “Mayor” of Kincaid, he extended his love toward not just his family, but also all that he encountered. He was known for his desire to help others, no matter the case.
Shirley found enjoyment in cleaning his cars and for keeping his yard immaculate. In his free time, he could be found camping and traveling.
He was a Christian and member of Bell Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Dixie, and also a member of the Masonic Lodge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Guy Wolfe; a grandson, Andrew Russell; a brother, Hertchel Wolfe; and sisters, Frances Saylor and Joann Mann.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife of 71 years, Jeanetta Wolfe; children, Shirley Mink (Ray) of Oak Hill, Michael Wolfe (Theresa) of Indiana, Donna Raynes of Oak Hill, and Lisa Brown (Keith) of Kincaid; brothers Marvin Wolfe, Delmas Wolfe and Terry Wolfe; sisters, Mary Hicks and Jean Mayberry; 12 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 1 great-great grandchild on the way; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a funeral service to celebrate the life of Shirley on Saturday, April 20th, 2024 at 2PM with Pastor Shane Wynn officiating and Timothy Wolfe sharing the obituary. The family ask that you join them for a visitation on Friday, April 19th, 2024 from 6PM to 8PM to remember the life of Shirley. Entombment will follow Saturday’s funeral at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia.
