UPDATE: MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A former Mercer County teacher arrested in North Carolina has been extradited to West Virginia.
According to detectives, James Stehlin Jr. was extradited to West Virginia on Monday night to face charges. Stehlin was arrested on August 11 in North Carolina for allegedly sending obscene images. Stehlin was a former teacher and coach at Princeton Middle School. He reportedly sent indecent pictures of himself to female students who were under the age of 18.
Stehlin is being held in Southern Regional Jail under a 50,000 cash-only bond.

MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS)— James Stehlin Jr. was arrested on August 11 in North Carolina for sending obscene images.
Stehlin was a former Mercer County teacher and coach. Warrants were issued by a collaborative investigation with the West Virginia State Police Crimes Against Children and North Carolina authorities. Obscene images were sent to females victims under the age of 18.
Mercer County Prosecuting Attorney Brian Cochran states that all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty and that the acts did not occur while Stehlin was employed by Mercer County Schools.
Stehlin is charged with three counts of sending obscene matter with the intent to seduce a minor. Currently, Stehlin is being held at the Chowan County North Carolina Detention Facility, awaiting extradition proceedings.
