BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Four people are charged after a fight over missing meth that left one woman completely nude and beaten up.
On Monday, April 22, 2024, Beckley Police responded to 305 Beaver Avenue to a call of multiple people fighting. When police arrived, they found a female victim completely nude, lying in a fetal position. Police say they observed several people fleeing when they arrived.
The victim said the people were trying to kill her, and she needed help. She further stated that they stripped her naked during a drug purchase. Before the fight broke out, the victim said she and Ashley Duncan had gone together and got an amount of methamphetamine earlier in the day. Duncan allegedly thought the victim had taken some of her share of the meth. Duncan allegedly then called Peggy Bowling and Shon Simpson to the house. They made her take her suboxone, knowing she wasn’t supposed to take it yet, and began to harass her.
The suspects told the victim that there was a woman outside, Katie Hightower, who came in, pushed the victim to the ground, and demanded she take her clothes off to look for the missing drugs. Hightower started removing the victim’s clothes until she was completely nude. The victim stated that Hightower repeated threats to her about having her “plug” running up in the house and that she would mutilate her with a knife.
Police interviewed Shon Simpson, but he was reluctant to say much. He did advise that Hightower said she would stretch the victim out.
Police interviewed Duncan, and she admitted to going with the victim to buy meth. Duncan said she told Simpson to go get Katie Hightower because “she is a big b*itch” and wanted to scare her. Duncan said Hightower told the victim she was going to beat her head in and violated her badly.
Police then interviewed Katie Hightower, but she was reluctant to give details about the incident.
Police charged Katie Hightower with burglary, unlawful restraint, and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Ashley Duncan was charged with conspiracy and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute heroin.
Shon Simpson was charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.
Peggy Bowling was charged with possession of heroin, meth, and marijuana.
