SNOWSHOE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Snowshoe Mountain Resort says it is working with event organizers after an ATV struck spectators during a racing event held on the mountain.
According to a statement from Snowshoe Mountain Resort, the incident occurred during Saturday’s Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) racing event in the “Howard’s Hole” section of the race course, where spectators were struck by an ATV.
“We have been made aware of an incident that occurred during yesterday’s GNCC racing event here on the mountain, specifically in the ‘Howard’s Hole’ section of the race course where spectators were struck by an ATV,” the resort said.
Snowshoe officials said they were advised that “all parties involved were either evaluated by emergency medical responders or departed the area.”
Following the incident, the resort said it met with officials from GNCC to discuss its concerns.
“In response, we have met with GNCC officials and expressed our concerns. They have assured us of their commitment to reviewing and implementing new policies and procedures in the future,” Snowshoe Mountain Resort said.
No additional information about the number of people involved or the extent of any injuries was released.
