PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Princeton Police Department has reopened a cold case investigation into the 2012 murder of Angela Lynne Cook, also known as Angela McKinney.
Cook’s body was discovered on January 19, 2012, inside an abandoned and condemned building near what was then 823 Mercer Street in Princeton. The building has since been demolished.
Cook’s death was ruled a homicide. Despite an extensive investigation, police were unable to make an arrest in the case.
More than 14 years later, investigators have reopened the case as advancements in technology and DNA testing could provide new evidence.
Police say investigators hope the renewed investigation will identify the person responsible, lead to an arrest and ultimately secure a conviction.
The department said providing answers and closure to Cook’s family remains a priority.
