CLEAR FORK, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Wyoming County Board of Education recently shared a number of renovations and upgrades currently underway at Westside High School as part of the Board’s ‘Showcase Wyco Schools’ campaign.
Funds facilitated through the American Rescue Plan are being implemented in the upgrading of the school’s HVAC system, which will include rerouting of cables for the installation of an all-new system.
Flooring updates for the school’s Digital Learning Center are also among projects currently in progress as part of the summer renovations, and on Tuesday, the Westside Maintenance Department completed installation of a new welcome sign for the school.
Rival/sister-school Wyoming East are currently seeing similar updates to their Digital Learning Center on the other side of the county, with new flooring and furniture being installed as part of facility upkeep.
These schools will be just a few in the county to see installation of brand new NightLock Security Door Locks, for which demonstrations were conducted Tuesday by Director of Safety and Transportation Jeff Hylton. These systems will see installation in all classrooms of Wyoming County Schools.
Elsewhere in Wyoming County, upgrades are being made to Oceana’s Gilliland Park, including the installation of a new picnic shed which is currently underway.
