GLENVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Glenville State University Jazz Band put on a performance for the staff and residents at Genesis HealthCare Glenville as part of National Skilled Nursing Care Week.
The ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Jason Barr, held a performance in the outside gazebo at the facility location, at an event which also featured a car show by the Appalachian Cruisers, as well as a cookout.
“The GSU Saxophone Quartet played at the Glenville Center at Christmas and the residents were so appreciative and had such a good time, so we were more than happy to perform for them again,” said Barr. “The weather was perfect for the outdoor performance and it was really a wonderful event. Kudos to Tammy Stewart for organizing the visit – we appreciate her very much.”
The performance follows performances at the Glenville State Fine Arts Center Auditorium in April for jazz appreciation month. These sets featured the university big band ensemble, as well sparser combo acts.
