MERCER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – At 12:30 this morning, deputies responded to a shooting report that occurred in Glenwood, WV, at a residence.
Upon arrival at the home in Maple Acres, deputies found that two men had shot each other over an argument.
Numerous calls from neighbors stated that there were multiple shots fired.
Both were transported to Princeton Community Hospital (PCH) for treatment. One was pronounced dead at the hospital. The second person was admitted into the hospital, and his condition is listed as critical.
Detective Hatfield and Detective Sergeant Sommers are investigating the case.
Names are not being released at this time.
At 223 am, deputies responded to a shooting that occurred on Rt 460 at the intersection of Locust Street in Princeton.
According to Corporal G.C. Paitsel of the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, an argument inside a local bar caused those participating patrons to be removed. One party involved in the argument was driving 460 westbound after leaving the bar when another vehicle approached from the passing lane.
The passing vehicle occupant(s) began shooting from their vehicle. The victim driver stopped on the right shoulder of the roadway after receiving a critical wound to the upper body. A second occupant of the shot vehicle escaped injury.
This victim was also transported to PCH ER, where condition is listed as critical. Names are not being released at this time.
Detective Sommers issued a BOLO for a blue Humvee H2 in connection with the shooting.
Both shooting incidents remain under investigation by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department.
