POINT PLEASANT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An unidentified body had been recovered near Point Pleasant on Sunday.
According the Mason County Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, on Sunday May 5, 2024, a body was discovered and recovered from the Ohio River near Point Pleasant.
The body – that of an unidentified male individual – has been sent to the Wv State Medical Examiners Office to be analyzed further.
“As we can not immediately confirm it was our missing person, we are disappointed in the outcome of our search but hope it can bring some type of closure to the family,” Jeremy Bryant, Director of Mason County Emergency Management.
“We want to thank the dog teams, as well as all of our mutual aid departments for their assistance with this response and recovery.
Point Pleasant Police Department will continue investigating this case.”
