FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Fayette County man was arrested Monday after deputies say he threatened his adopted grandmother during a domestic disturbance at the Midtown Terrace Apartments.
According to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to Building 7 of the Midtown Terrace Apartments on Terrace Drive at approximately 10:20 a.m. on July 20 in response to a trespassing complaint.
While deputies were en route, Fayette County 911 advised that Christopher Allen Thomas, who had reportedly been banned from the property, was allegedly beating on the victim’s door.
When deputies arrived, they spoke with the victim, Helen Marie Thomas, who told investigators that Christopher became angry after she refused to buy diapers and other items for his daughter because she did not have the money.
According to the complaint, Christopher allegedly began cursing at her and calling her names. After she told him to leave the residence, he allegedly threatened her, saying, “If you mess with me, I’ll knock your damn brains out.”
Helen told deputies she was initially frightened by the threat and feared for her safety. She also stated that Christopher is her adopted grandson, lives at the residence, and that she wanted him to stay away because she no longer trusted him and was afraid he might strike her.
Based on the victim’s statement and the circumstances of the incident, deputies arrested Christopher Allen Thomas on a charge of domestic assault.
He was transported to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office for processing.
As with all criminal cases, the charge is an allegation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
