This week’s agriculture report will highlight both Shady Spring and Liberty High School FFA programs. Both schools traveled to Morgantown this past week and competed against over 800 students from across the state in Career Development Events at WVU. While on campus students toured the WVU Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resource, and Design offices, classrooms, labs, and farms. While all Raleigh County students represented their schools well, one group the “Bug Team” from Shady Spring FFA consisting of Levi Hicks, Brooklyn McClure, Savannah Kidwell, and Adrian Carag placed 5th in Entomology contest. A big thanks to Laura Elam from Liberty and Kevin Okes from Shady Spring for investing their time in youth agriculture.
