Albert J. Keneda, 81, of Foundation Fork, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 15, 2023 at his home surrounded by his children and loving family after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Albert fought the fight and won the race.
He was born May 23, 1942 in Simon, WV a son of the late Jason and Velva Maynor Kennedy. Albert was a member of the Apostolic House of Faith, UMWA, and a retired member of the Hanover Volunteer Fire Dept.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and a friend to many. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren, who brought so much joy to his life. He also enjoyed ginsenging and squirrel hunting when his health would allow him, flea marketing, picking up pop cans, collecting scrap metal, late night car rides looking for deer, gathered around the table playing cards with his family, growing a garden, and watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing sports, where he was their biggest fan, and sleepovers with his grandbabies.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife and best friend of 54 years, Brenda Bernece Keneda, a granddaughter Toni Victoria Blankenship, great granddaughter Zacari Miller, son-in-law Tony Firg Blankenship, a daughter-in-law Shannon Lynn Keneda, four brothers Humphrey, Berthel, Virgil, and Gregory Kennedy, two sisters Catherine Blankenship and Opal Morgan.
Those left to cherish his memory include six children, Wesley Allen Keneda of the home, Tessie and husband Tommy Webb of Hanover, Todd and wife Malena Keneda and Timothy Keneda all of Simon, Eddie and wife Tonya Keneda of Welch, Christal Pearl Lawrence of Simon, a son-in-law Glenn Lawrence of Simon, a brother Preston Keneda of Skin Fork, two sisters Gloria Hanshaw of Skin Fork, and Deborah and husband Lloyd Archer of Jackson County, twenty three grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one great great grandchild, special friends Jack Morgan, Ronald Keneda, Tommy White, Curt Harper, Juanita Morgan, Carnetta Cline, and his fur baby Sassy.
Funeral Service will be at 1pm on Tuesday, December 19th at the Apostolic House of Faith, Foundation Fork, WV with Rev. Tommy White and Rev. Rocky Morgan officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his loving wife in the Keneda Family Cemetery, Foundation Fork, WV. Friends may gather with the family after 6pm on Monday, December 18th at the church. His family will serve as pallbearers.
