ATHENS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Planning is currently underway for the 2024 Athens-Concord Town Social, which is set to take place on Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
Coinciding with Concord University’s freshman orientation weekend, the event provides an exciting opportunity for the welcoming of new students to the area along with the reunification of attendees who anticipate the event each year.
Featured at this year’s event will be community groups, local businesses, food vendors, regional artists, Concord University organizations, and Athens High School reunion groups. The front yard of the Jean and Jerry L. Beasley Student Center will host attendees in celebration of the tradition’s 36th year.

With craft vendors, food vendors, a variety of activities, and live music from Alabaster Boxer and The Allen Smith Band, it’s set to be an exciting day for people of all ages! We look forward to celebrating with you and strengthening the bond between Concord University and the Athens community.”
