WESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Weston woman is facing charges after allegedly going on a destructive rampage with a baseball bat, smashing vehicle windshields during a domestic incident on Sunday, April 27.
Deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched around 11:43 a.m. to a residence on Millstone Road following a 911 call reporting property destruction. The caller, a man identified as Mike Painter, told authorities his children had contacted him, saying Donna Riddle was smashing windshields with a bat.
When officers arrived, they spoke with Painter and his children in a nearby lot. During the conversation, Riddle reportedly exited the residence and was immediately detained. Deputies observed two vehicles — including a rollback truck — with smashed windshields and broken glass.
Painter explained that although he and Riddle divorced in 2011, he allowed her to remain in the home so their children could continue living there. He presented text messages from Riddle, including photos of the damage and a message reading, “fix that asshole.”
Riddle’s son showed officers visible scratches he said were caused when Riddle struck him with a back scratcher. He claimed the incident escalated after she smeared goat feces on his truck, then threw a rock at it when he confronted her. A white and pink metal bat used in the destruction was recovered, still covered in glass shards.
Painter also alleged that Riddle nearly struck him with her car after he arrived, claiming she accelerated toward him before backing off.
The total estimated damage was under $2,500.
