BECKLEY, W.V. (LOOTPRESS) – Is Valentine’s Day not your thing? Well, this year the Axe Hole in Beckley is slashing Valentine’s Day and hosting an Anti-Valentine’s Day party instead! The blacklight party will begin at 8 p.m. on Friday, February 11, with live music from Pink Casino to follow at 9 p.m.
Lindsey Pratt, Manager at the Axe Hole, says she is excited about this event, not only because it puts a spin on a usually romantic holiday but also because it’s the first time the business will feature live music.
“There’s a first for everything,” Pratt said. “Valentines Day is a time when people are always out trying to find something to do. A lot of people do a lot of Valentine’s Day-related things but not a lot of people celebrate it. Some people would rather hang out with friends or maybe have a girls’ night or a guys’ night or find a way to mingle. This just gives people something different to do.”
Rather than the usual blacklight targets, Pratt shared that the targets will be painted pink, and the bullseye will be switched out for hearts. Lanes are $50 and can fit up to five people. Those who want to listen to the band but don’t want to throw axes can still come and pay a $5 cover charge.
The Axe Hole will extend its hours till midnight on Friday. Lane reservations can be booked by visiting axeholebeckley.com or calling 304-200-2112.
