BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Beckley Concert Association will present Onyx Ensemble on Thursday, May 21, at Heart of God Ministries in Beckley.
The performance is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will feature professional string and woodwind musicians from Richmond, Virginia, performing classical selections along with contemporary and sacred favorites.
The concert is included with a 2025-26 Beckley Concert Association membership. Non-members may purchase tickets online at beckleyconcerts.com or at the door for $20.
Before the evening concert, members of Onyx Ensemble will visit Beckley-Stratton Middle School for an educational outreach program. Students will learn about the musicians’ backgrounds and instruments, including the harp, flute, violin, viola and piano.
“This educational outreach is part of Beckley Concert Association’s ongoing commitment to support music education in our schools and community,” BCA President George Shriver said.
“We are excited to welcome these talented musicians to Beckley, and we look forward to hearing them perform in the Heart of God Ministries sanctuary. It’s going to be a great show.”
Heart of God Ministries is located at 1703 South Kanawha St. in Beckley.
According to the Beckley Concert Association, the performance is supported in part through the Special Presenter Initiatives program of Mid Atlantic Arts with support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the West Virginia Division of Culture and History.
Children ages 18 and younger accompanied by a paying adult will be admitted free, along with college students who present a valid student ID.
The Beckley Concert Association is also preparing for its 2026-27 season, which is expected to begin in September.
The lineup is set to include a jazz duo, a Dave Matthews Band tribute, classical strings, a barbershop quartet, Celtic Angels and a Motown tribute dance party.
Season memberships will cost $55 for adults and $50 for seniors older than 60. More information is expected to be announced at beckleyconcerts.com.
