BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Beckley man is facing a criminal charge after allegedly exposing himself and making sexually explicit comments to an emergency medical worker during an ambulance transport.
According to the Beckley Police Department, officers responded to the Dollar General at 2970 Robert C. Byrd Drive on June 16, 2026, after EMS requested law enforcement assistance for a patient experiencing breathing difficulties who was reportedly known to carry weapons.
When officers arrived, they identified the patient as Brian Thomas and found a bag containing several knives. Police said a Dollar General employee agreed to keep the bag at the store while Thomas was transported by EMS at his request.
Later that evening, police were contacted by EMS worker Ashley Hodges, who reported an incident that allegedly occurred during the ambulance ride.
According to the criminal complaint, Hodges told officers that around 8:15 p.m., Thomas began touching her arm and leg, sticking out his tongue, and making comments about her appearance. She reported that Thomas allegedly told her, “I’m going to lick your (explicit),” and stated that he had an erection.
Hodges further alleged that Thomas partially exposed his genitals, allowing her to see part of them, and then continued shaking his genitals through his pants while asking her out.
Based on the allegations, police said they are seeking a warrant charging Thomas with indecent exposure.
The incident occurred in the City of Beckley in Raleigh County.
As with all criminal cases, the charge is an allegation, and Thomas is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
