BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Beckley man is facing charges after police say he broke into a home during a domestic incident and assaulted a woman while she was on the phone with 911.
On August 15, 2025, officers responded to a residence on F Street after dispatchers reported that 911 operators could hear the victim screaming, “Please stop,” as 36-year-old Donnie Blackburn allegedly forced his way inside.
According to investigators, the victim had barricaded the doors following an earlier altercation with Blackburn. Despite her efforts, Blackburn kicked in the front door, grabbed her, and forced her hands behind her back in an attempt to take her phone. He fled the scene before police arrived.
The victim was able to retrieve her phone and remain on the line with 911 until officers arrived.
Authorities say Blackburn will be charged with domestic battery and interfering with emergency communications.
