BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man is charged with malicious wounding after hitting a woman and striking her with a liquor bottle, which caused her front tooth to be knocked out.
According to Beckley Police, on December 11, 2022, officers responded to a 911 hang-up call. Emergency officials say they called back and could hear a large disturbance in the background.
When police arrived at the home, the victim was found with a split/cut lip and was missing a front tooth. The victim was very distraught and said she was lightheaded and her head was hurting.
The victim said her boyfriend, the suspect, Michael Kendrick, was arguing with her. Kendrick then grabbed a tequila bottle and struck the victim, splitting her lip and knocking a top front tooth out. Police say they found the liquor bottle inside and outside in the driveway they found wads of hair or a wig that had been ripped off or had fallen from the victim’s head.
The victim was transported to the hospital for her injuries.
Kendrick was later found and arrested for malicious wounding. He is being held in Southern Regional Jail under a 30,000-dollar bond.
