BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man faces charges after he allegedly sexually assaulted a juvenile.
According to a criminal complaint, on September 25, 2021, it was reported to Beckley Police that Richard McDorman had sexually assaulted a juvenile. Â The victim’s mother stated that the child was staying the night with the defendant and his wife. Â The juvenile requested to go home after McDorman touched her private parts.
According to the juvenile, McDorman came into the bedroom and got into bed with her around midnight. Â She believes McDorman thought she was asleep. Â He began to touch her inappropriately. McDorman got up to get water, and the child ran to the bathroom and locked the door. Â The child told McDorman to leave her alone but tried to access the bathroom by using a knife to pop the door open but was unsuccessful.
The child stayed in the bathroom until a family member came and got her.
McDorman is charged with 2nd-degree sexual assault and sexual abuse by a parent, guardian, custodian, or person in a position of trust to a child. Â He is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 250,000 dollar bond.
