BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Beckley man has pleaded guilty to a federal fentanyl distribution charge after admitting to multiple drug sales in the city.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Boyd Clark, 42, pleaded guilty Wednesday to distribution of fentanyl.
Court documents state that on Oct. 31, 2025, Clark sold approximately 1 gram of fentanyl to a confidential informant at a Beckley hotel where he was staying.
As part of his guilty plea, Clark admitted to that transaction and also acknowledged selling 1-gram quantities of fentanyl to the same confidential informant in Beckley on Nov. 5, 2025, and Feb. 24, 2026.
Investigators also determined that Clark was on federal supervised release at the time of the controlled drug buys stemming from a previous conviction in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
Clark is scheduled to be sentenced on Nov. 13, 2026. He faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $1 million.
U.S. Attorney Moore Capito announced the guilty plea and commended the investigative work of the Beckley/Raleigh County Drug and Violent Crime Unit, which includes officers from the West Virginia State Police, the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office and the Beckley Police Department.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Omar J. Aboulhosn presided over the hearing. Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy D. Boggess is prosecuting the case.
