BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Beckley man is behind bars after he tried to entice a 16-year-old child for sex.
According to the Beckley Police Department, on January 30, 2025, a cyber tip was received by the username Howie P, who had attempted to entice a juvenile for sex. The suspect, Howard Kevin Peters, told the child how sexually attractive she was, even after he knew she was underage.
Peters went into graphic details about what he would do to her and started sending nude pics. He told her not to tell anyone and tried to arrange a hookup.
Peters is charged with soliciting a minor and distributing obscene material to a minor. He is in Southern Regional Jail under a 300,000 dollar bond.
