BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two Beckley men have been charged in connection with the theft of more than $4,500 worth of copper piping and other metals from a Beckley business, according to the Beckley Police Department.
Police said officers responded on June 26, 2026, to a breaking and entering at the West Virginia Heating and Cooling building on Central Avenue in Beckley.
Investigators determined the suspects arrived at the business in a U-Haul truck during the early morning hours. After allegedly forcing their way into the property, the suspects loaded more than $4,500 worth of copper piping and various other metals into the truck before leaving the scene.
Beckley detectives later identified the U-Haul and determined that two suspects were involved. Warrants have been obtained for David Linkswiler, 42, and Wesley Plumley, 34, both of Beckley.
Police said Linkswiler was taken into custody on July 8, 2026, and has been remanded to the Southern Regional Jail. Plumley remains at large.
The investigation is ongoing, and police say additional arrests are expected.
The investigation is being handled by Detective Ryan Cuevas.
