HILLDALE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning in Summers County.
Summers County Sheriff Justin Faris said the first call reporting the crash came in at approximately 6:42 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026. The crash occurred in the Hilldale area on Route 3 and involved two vehicles.
According to Faris, one of the vehicles rolled over during the crash, and its driver was ejected. The driver died at the scene.
The victim was an adult male.
Those traveling in the other vehicle were reported to be uninjured.
Summers County Fire and Rescue, Talcott Volunteer Fire Department, Summers County Emergency Services and the Summers County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene.
A power pole was also broken during the crash, resulting in a local power outage. Utility crews responded to the area to make repairs.
The roadway has since reopened to traffic.
Faris said authorities are in the process of notifying the victim’s next of kin. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
