BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Beckley VA has announced a PACT Act awareness event set to take place on Thursday.
This free event, sponsored by the Department of Veterans Affairs, will offer assistance in filing claims to veterans who have earned healthcare and other benefits.
Walk-ins will be welcomed throughout the duration of the event, which is scheduled to take place from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the VA’s 200 Veterans avenue location in Beckley on Thursday, March 16, 2023.
Participating veterans will be able to receive Toxic Exposure Screenings, Education Benefits information, Home Loan information and more helpful services.
The VA has noted that, “although this effort is expected to draw many Veterans seeking assistance on recently passed legislation concerning toxic exposures, known as the “PACT Act,” VA welcomes all Veterans and Survivors seeking assistance.”
The bi-partisan effort, backed by Senator Manchin and signed into law in August, provides a number of benefits to veterans, including expanded healthcare coverage.
“We must be willing to pay the cost of war from beginning to end, including caring for our Veterans who are facing health complications after serving our nation,” said Senator Manchin.
“I’m pleased this vital legislation to provide our Veterans with the healthcare and benefits they deserve has been signed into law and will continue working to help care for our Veterans across West Virginia.”
