BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One of Beckley’s largest annual events will return to downtown next month as the city prepares for its 35th Annual Chili Night.
Chili Night will be held Saturday, Oct. 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. in downtown Beckley, featuring chili vendors, live entertainment, games and other activities.
The annual chili competition includes several categories, including specialty and spicy chili. So far, 16 chili vendors and 23 non-chili booths have registered for the event, with organizers encouraging additional chili cooks to participate.
Registration for chili participants and other booths will remain open through Sept. 25.
Attendees can purchase five chili sample tickets and a People’s Choice voting coin for $5. Tickets will go on sale online and at the Youth Museum during the week leading up to the event. They will also be available during the first two hours of Chili Night.
Several stages will feature live entertainment throughout the evening. Warehouse 40 and the George Dorn Band are scheduled to perform on the Main Street stage, with a Refit demonstration planned during band breaks.
Jim Snyder is planning and producing entertainment for the Word Park and Cardinal stages, with those lineups expected to be announced at a later date. Several booths will also offer games and activities.
Chili Night has become a long-standing fall tradition in Beckley and serves as a fundraiser for Beckley Events.
