BLUEFIELD, VA (LOOTPRESS) – The Bluefield Town Council approved a Conditional Use Permit for Bluefield Tobacco and Vape during last night’s Town Council meeting, clearing the way for the business to move forward under a series of operating conditions.
Town officials said the permit approval came after public comments and concerns were raised by residents, the Planning Commission, and Town Council members during the review process. According to the Town, those concerns were considered while crafting conditions intended to balance the proposed business with nearby properties and local ordinances.
The approved conditions include requirements that the business comply with all state and federal laws related to tobacco and vape products. Smoking and vaping will not be allowed inside the business, and the business must also control odors from escaping the premises.
Additional conditions address the storefront appearance, including restrictions on excessive lighting, window coverings, and the use of show windows. The permit also outlines detailed definitions for tobacco products, vape products, alternative nicotine products, and related paraphernalia.
Town officials encouraged residents to continue participating in public hearings, Planning Commission meetings, and Town Council meetings, calling them one of the most direct ways for citizens to help shape the future of the community.
The full list of approved conditions was released alongside the Town’s announcement following the meeting.
