BLUEWELL, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A Bluewell man was arrested for disorderly conduct Monday after a domestic dispute and repeated disruptions at a local bank led to multiple 911 calls.
According to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department, Deputy B.A. Rode responded to a domestic disturbance at 312 Tremont Park Circle, where a woman reported that Matthew Osborne struck her in the face and broke her television. Osborne had left the scene on foot prior to the deputy’s arrival, heading toward Route 52.
Deputy Rode later located Osborne at the Cargo gas station. Osborne appeared “very intoxicated,” and was reportedly crying and yelling uncontrollably.
Before locating Osborne, the deputy stopped at the First Community Bank in Bluewell, where bank tellers reported Osborne had earlier withdrawn money while making staff uncomfortable. Witnesses said Osborne loudly complimented a female teller’s appearance, which made her visibly uneasy.
Though the initial domestic battery complaint could not result in immediate arrest due to a lack of intimacy between the involved parties, Osborne was given a verbal warning and dropped off at the bank — only to return moments later.
Just after being dropped off, Osborne again caused a disturbance at First Community Bank. Employees reported he was yelling, crying, and laying his money out across a table near the front door. The branch manager noted Osborne was acting “nervous” and “under the influence of something.” He allegedly approached her office crying and continued to make inappropriate comments to staff.
Osborne was placed under arrest for Disorderly Conduct (61-6-1b) and transported to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department for processing.
No injuries were reported in either incident.
