GILMER COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia State Police are investigating after a body was discovered Thursday along Joe’s Run Road in the Sand Fork area of Gilmer County.
Troopers from the Glenville Detachment, along with crime scene specialists and officers from nearby detachments, responded to the scene.

The body was later transported to the West Virginia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for examination.
An autopsy was performed Friday morning. Investigators say the remains had been at the location for an extended period, which has made identification difficult.
At this time, authorities say there are no signs of foul play, and the investigation remains ongoing.
